Seriously, I can`t understand TQ at times. What is her problem? She`s snapping back at me so often and acts the way that makes me think she thinks she`s the center of the world. OK, now that I said that aloud she probably even sues me for insulting her honour. Sorry about that but I`m just saying my thoughts aloud. I mean no insult but as I`ve noticed during this a bit over a year I`ve had a chance to "know" her, I`ve learned that I must tiptoe with everything I say around her, which is extremely exhausting at times. For example in the beginning of this study year I happened to comment a guy who`s not yet 18 (= legally under aged) but already passed the safety age (16) that he was looking good. That was simply a platonic statement - a compliment without any further meanings and she was immediately complaining that I could be sued for mixing myself with the underaged, and that is illegal. Tseeh! I just complimented someone`s looks and she raises a hell about that! I have no interest on that guy I complimented to be looking good, I can find more suitable matches from the grown-ups. I don`t have to search my luck from those who are still minorities. (Besides that guy didn`t even fill my mate requirements even a bit!) They don`t have the level of independent thinking that comes by the age...
Then today it came to my classmates` knowledge that my website is back on-line after my major solution for the technical stability problems I had had and she was immediately complaining that if I`m showing anybody`s face without a permission I can be sued. Again, what`s your problem, TQ? I`ve masked everybody except myself and Daemon, who said even a few times on this morning "So what, if my face appears and the possible employers see it!" (Straight words from Daemon´s mouth - only translated in English.) Czar was also throwing his concerns about his privacy, but now I`m only waiting that he view the pics where he appears and wait if he accepts the level I`ve taken to ensure his security.
Needless to say that I find this all fuzz a bit hypocrite. The world is full of cameras and people post the photos shot by their camera phones very carelessly, without necessarily ask from all those people who appear in the pictures their permissions when they don`t often even bother to mask those who would wish their face kept more hidden. You can`t avoid becoming filmed if you go out and public! When you go to a store, there`s probably a recording security cameras and when you are among the traffic, there are the automatic speed detectors that shoot a pic of you if they spot you overspeeding, plus the Weather and traffic cameras of Tiehallinto (Finnish road governmental office). I`m not asking them to post on-line any pictures where I appear, even unmasked unless I`ve covered my face myself - usually to protect it from too much of coldness. Should I go and sue the government for violating my privacy on the roads I travel? Should I try to go and chase everybody who has shot a picture with their camera phones and I`ve been either starring (of course, unwillingly!) or appeared (accidentally) on the background? (Again of course unwillingly...) Should I go and sue my school for filming me? They didn`t ask my permission to shoot that stuff about me... Or how about the reality-TV -programs we see every day? Hardly the filmers have gone and asked written permissions from each and everyone who even glimpses on the film? They could go and sue the filmer for violating their privacy!
See? Here`s the point: you can`t avoid becoming filmed if you step out of your home. You are on the danger zone even at the window or doorway of your own appartment. Of course we CAN try to limit our appereances but for example we can`t call to the road governmental office that "Hey, turn off the cameras - I want to pass `em and keep my privacy." And even in that case they would make a log entry, telling that you called and asked `em to turn off the cameras. We leave our mark to this world - we wanted it or not. We can control sometimes very little of that what is published about us - we just have to live with it and try to act the way that doesn`t hurt our reputation and honour. I know what I`m talking about, because I know I`ve once accidentally ended up even to the news on the state`s channel (they interviewed a sportsman) without that I had noticed it, before it was too late for me and they never asked if it was O.k. that I appear on TV. (And sure it wouldn`t have been! I was just sipping soda and it was closed circumstanses where this was shot, because I was on a sports camp that was guided by this sportsman! Grrr! They violated my >beep!< privacy! We weren`t supposed to get filmed there - not at least by some news-folk! I was looking there so stupid and half of my home town annoyingly recognized me!) Plus that a couple of times it`s happened that a newspaper lady has "attacked" on me and before I`ve even properly realized, she`s taken a photo and interviewed me. And then about in the middle of the interview I realize "Hey, did she ask if it was ok to make a story about me to the local newspaper?" or "Hey, when did I say yes to her and realized that I`m really being interviewed for the paper?" And then they modify my excact words to fit better for their purposes and publish it, before me telling it`s O.K. to do that. Isn`t that also privacy violation? Or am I being just a little bit hypocrite when minding about my own privacy? Why I get the slap from TQ, while other people (I`m not naming `em here because I know I`m putting up the flames already with this post.) can post pictures about those very same people without them knowing at all. Obviously it`s again the fact that what you don`t know doesn`t hurt you. Right?
